Globally three major cruise lines dominate. They control 80% of the market with 17 brands:
- Carnival Corporation (Carnival, Holland America, Princess, Seabourn, Windstar, AIDA Costa, Cunard, P&O, Ocean Village, Swan Hellenic)
- Royal Caribbean Cruises (Celebrity)
- Star Cruises Group (Star, Norwegian, NCL America, Orient).
Their fleets are young and modern, with an average age of about 10 years, and they are making significant profits.
